Not sure what were exact IRQ numbers for these were back on Win8.1 but I'm 100% sure they were not sharing the same IRQ. Intel(R) s Series/3400 Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller - 3B34 Intel(R) 5 Series/3400 SATA AHCI Controller Like I always do fired up mbk1969's MSI Utility V3 to swich some devices to MSI mode and one thing caught my eye:

I'll try to explain my recent experience with this.įew weeks ago decided to move one older gaming rig from Win8.1 Pro 64bit ti Win10 Pro 64bit 21H1. What will happen if all\some of them would also be high? Thanks!Ĭlick to expand.Look like it has something to do with geting priority for some devices/drivers to "grab" IRQ before the others. Mine says that only standart controller Sata Ahci has it at High. What will changing interrupt priority setting affect? Thanks for the thread! It's very interesting!

I haven't messed with it yet, just wanted to make sure if it's even doable or this particular SMBus thing doesn't support MSI mode?Īs of MSI utillity v3 at the first page I see that it's just doesn't support that mode, so there's no need to mess around in reg entries, am I correct? Say AP - Temporal I guess should be the same as others like Qword ff for example. There was no Interrupt Management\MessageSignaledInterruptProperties sections in the registry entry in the first place, so I thought maybe those aren't enough for it to work, cuz in other entries there were also such sections as Affinity Policy, Routing Info and few others, but thing is I don't really know what to change\add there or if it'll even work in the end. Tried updating it from MS catalog to the latest (I assume) ver 10.1.1.38 of so far, but it still in Line-based mode. Intel(R) 100 Series/C230 Series Chipset Family SMBus - A123

If you do decide to use the latest chipset software file from intel follow the above instructions and if you go the dos terminal rout, make sure to first change directory to where you unzipped the files e.g.Since there're 80 pages in this thread and I've read only 32 atm lol and haven't stumbled on a solution yet, I was wondering if there's any for SMBus not getting into MSI mode. The reason i suggest this is because ASUS have altered the installation routine for the original file they get from intel, and might interfere with the -overall switch.

If this does not work then I would download the latest Chipset software file from, and follow the above instructions on the file from intel. You can instead run the above "switch" command in a elevated Dos terminal. Next open the Run box by clicking the Windows key + R and type the following command: Once you unzip the files to that folder there will be a file called "AsusSetup.exe" among others. Then unzip the file you downloaded "Intel_Management_Engine_Interface.zip" to a folder on your C drive that you create e.g., C:\inf II recommend to download the chipset software files, from here:

You could have better luck to force to install the inf files, which the file you download from ASUS actually installs so that all devices in Device Manager>System devices are recognized correctly by windows.
